The Sudan government has been sending in Sudanese armed forces and militia called "Janjaweed." These forces fight the Sudanese Liberation Army (SLA) and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) forces. Since the JEM and SLA both get support from civilians, the government has targeted civilian villages to try and stomp out the SLA and JEM. Since then, the government has killed 400,000 people, displaced 2.5 million people, and nearly 10,000 are dying every month. |
